After a long time, saw a movie that touched me. I had heard about this movie for a long time, but i thought this was a comedy in the American Pie genre. I was pleasantly surprised. The movie though has a typical masala storyline reflects on how modern day life is complicated and shallow. It also depicts this simplistic (but radical) attitude to life which is portrayed in this scene.

Ricky's who is working as a waiter leaves in the middle of his job when he finds his neighbour (Lester) in the party and they go out to have a smoke. Ricky's employer comes looking for him, and when he finds him , says

Look, I am not paying you to do whatever it is you are doing here

Ricky in a very cool unapologetic ( I would say confident) tone replies

Fine, dont pay me.

The shocked employer says

Excuse me!

and Ricky replies

I quit. So...... you dont have to pay me. Now leave me alone

Lester looks at him and says.

You just became my personal hero. Dont you get nervous when your job is at stake?!

This incident changes Lester's life forever in a very positive way.

There are some more events in the movie which are worth remembering. The end of the movie is intriguing as well. Overall the movie is about a different and a positive perception of life and also of death. Dont miss this movie. The ending is really touchy. By the way John Cusack (Lester) won an Oscar for his performance in this movie.
